Why this belongs in the FermiLabs story
The Tesla Coil and ZVS programme began as a technical challenge and became one of the longest-running FermiLabs experimental lines.
The portfolio describes Tesla coils and ZVS drivers designed and built from scratch, including reuse of components recovered from old electronics. That made the work simultaneously about high-voltage engineering, circular economy and learning how real components depart from ideal textbook behaviour.
From 2023 the activity increasingly used professional measurement systems in work involving Dewesoft Italia and IC Elektronika. Prototype changes could therefore be compared through waveforms and measurements instead of being judged only by visible discharge.
The project was also shown at CoilTech. Its recurring engineering principle became a FermiLabs motto: if you cannot measure a change, you cannot know whether you improved it.
