Why this belongs in the FermiLabs story

FermiLabs rocketry started with solid-motor experimentation in 2020 and evolved toward a much harder objective: a student-researched-and-developed bi-liquid propulsion system.

The programme combines CFD flow studies, FEM structural analysis, component design, fabrication and test-stand development. The portfolio states that components are produced in the FermiLabs laboratories and in the Mechatronics Department of IIS Fermi-Guttuso in Giarre.

Cold-flow testing is used before hot-fire work to study behaviour and safety. The portfolio records early ignition tests with compressed air and propylene using a custom ignition circuit driving an automotive spark plug, with oxygen-circuit integration identified as the next step for the intended configuration.

Safety, documentation and reproducibility are treated as part of the engineering result. The portfolio even preserves the team's banana-for-scale tradition alongside the technical work.
