Why this belongs in the FermiLabs story

The Dewesoft Summer Camp became an intensive version of the FermiLabs Learning by Doing approach: multidisciplinary problems, professional instruments and very little separation between theory and prototype.

The portfolio describes compliant mechanisms in TPU and PETG, soldering and fabrication, robotics, animatronics and 3D printing. One programme produced a functioning robotic head and a friendly animatronic fox in collaboration with special-effects expert Alvaro Passeri.

Other activities included Optris thermal imaging, Tesla-coil measurement and a functional 3D-printed violin. In the 2025 edition, the focus shifted toward automotive work, load cells, CAN-bus sniffing, acoustic measurement, resource management and budget optimisation.

The value of the camp is the full engineering loop: build something, instrument it, observe what actually happened and use that evidence to improve the next iteration.
